I have six years’ experience in education, four of which are working as a primary school teacher. I have worked with many children from different backgrounds, and of different abilities between the ages of five and eleven. I studied French and German at University College London for my undergraduate degree. I most recently completed my Primary PGCE with specialism in mathematics. I am familiar with both the state and private sector, and can adapt to support a variety of different needs.
I place huge importance on understanding the goals of every individual and developing the necessary steps for working to achieve these goals. I am very approachable and I am good at building a positive rapport with my students. This translates into a relaxed, yet focused approach in my teaching. I believe in and embody a holistic teaching approach in the classroom focusing on the social, emotional and academic development of a child. I then translate this to my tutoring by encouraging critical thinking, resilience and independence in learners.
I enjoy sports including running, swimming and cycling. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a wide range of books. I also enjoy computing/coding and playing the drums. I have grown up speaking English, French and German.
