Julien has six years’ experience in education, four of which are working as a primary school teacher. Julien has worked with many children from different backgrounds, and of different abilities between the ages of five and eleven. He studied French and German at University College London for his undergraduate degree. He most recently completed his Primary PGCE with specialism in mathematics. He is familiar with both the state and private sector, and can adapt to support a variety of different needs.
Julien places huge importance on understanding the goals of every individual and developing the necessary steps for working to achieve these goals. He is very approachable and he is good at building a positive rapport with his students. This translates into a relaxed, but focused approach in his teaching. He believes in and embodies a holistic teaching approach in the classroom focusing on the social, emotional and academic development of a child. He then translates this to his tutoring by encouraging critical thinking, resilience and independence in learners.
Julien enjoys sports including running, swimming and cycling. In his spare time, he enjoys reading a wide range of books. He also enjoys computing/coding and playing the drums. Julien has grown up speaking English, French and German.
