Josh graduated top of his class with a First-Class Honours from Cardiff University in biomedical neuroscience. He teaches biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics and has experience with 11+, GCSE and A-Level. He enjoys finding new strategies to make these sometimes-tough subjects easier to understand in ways that make sense to the student.
Josh’s initial process involves working with the parent and teachers to determine where the student requires support. he then works with the student to understand where they believe they are struggling and/or use test papers with the student to better understand where they need support. This process allows Josh to progress in identifying precisely where tutoring is required and helps to build a connection based on trust. This process also offers an insight into how he can tailor the lessons to help achieve personal ambitions. Josh’s aim is to inspire and encourage students to achieve their best, and give them the confidence they need in order to achieve this.
Josh draws experience from coaching: where he has coached judo, rugby and rowing, and also from his professional experience working in a scientific laboratory and companies, such as GlaxoSmithKline and Johnson & Johnson. Here he worked in Account Management, managing a team of professionals and mentoring graduates.
When Josh is not tutoring, he will often be found playing rugby, coaching and participating in Judo. He also loves to read and uses his spare time to travel.
