Claire has a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art (art history from 1945 to the present day, with art curatorial and art business studies) and a BA Joint Honours degree in Modern Languages (French & German, Language & Literature). She also has a TEFL Certificate in teaching English for learners of English as a secondary language. Claire also has a certificate in freelance journalism. She is a Member (Fellow) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), She is a Linguist, and was a member of the Institute of Linguists.
Claire has professional experience in many areas. These include: teaching English to speakers of other languages including pronunciation / business English in company, 1-2-1; teaching German to learners of German; teaching art history, post-war contemporary art, from 1945 onwards; teaching pronunciation of English to business people in the luxury sector.
They also include in the roll of marketing: marketing strategy, thought leadership, content marketing, PR – worked in various marketing roles in professional services (eg. EY, Accenture), and Higher Arts Education (eg. Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Trinity College London); professional business writing for business people eg. presentations, case studies, white papers, articles, thought leadership; experience of working in PR – through a PR agency in Brussels/London, and in her roles as marketing manager/marketing director; writing press releases, finding out about stories to pitch to journalists; finding and putting on exhibitions for artists and promoting artists’ works, writing press releases for artists, pitching to art media; supporting a tech start – up with Press and PR, writing press releases, compiling press lists, contacting journalists; experience of working 1-2-1 with partners, CEOs, directors of companies, helping them to find story ideas to create key messages about their company’s services; experience of working as a business Editor, trained in the Pyramid Principle, by Barbara Minto, when she was at McKinsey & Co, in Germany/London.
Claire also has experience as an art advisor: advising individuals on selecting and buying contemporary art for their own personal art collection, working 1-2-1, helping to define the brief, and then sourcing artworks, negotiating the sales process, ensuring successful purchase and delivery of artwork; knowledge about the art market, who the players are, how it works, how to do business in the art world, careers in the art world – she can advise on a range of careers in the visual arts internationally; knowledge about how to sell in the luxury market and the curating of art exhibitions.
Finally, Claire has experience of: Translation, German into English, various subject matter (eg. business, legal, arts, marketing, advertising); as well as experience in Academic and Business writing, and arts writing.

Claire’s hobbies include the visual arts, film, creative writing, German language & literature and keeping herself fit. She also speaks fluent German & French.
